Joseph Pilates was a competitive boxer and a prisoner of war who created Pilates exercise system to be one of rehabilitation. The contemporary Pilates apparatus-training regimen supports the body by strengthening the abdominal complex and trunk stabilizers. Once we have determined your skeletal or muscular imbalances, a series of exercises will be determined. These exercises will bring strength and increase performance whether done alone, or in conjunction with other sports or exercise regimens. In the spirit of Joseph’s history and intention, our goal is to make Pilates accessible especially to those who have injuries or are involved in other forms of training.
